Beyond his contributions to AEI, Wedlock was regarded as one of Australia’s most influential figures in insurance broking. He served as a former President and Fellow of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and spent more than two decades contributing to the organization’s committees and national board. Throughout his career, he championed professionalism, ethical standards, and the development of future insurance professionals.

He was also a long-time advocate for the Careers in Insurance initiative, generously mentoring young brokers and encouraging the next generation to pursue excellence within the profession. Colleagues frequently described him as approachable, supportive, and always willing to share his knowledge and experience.

Wedlock’s outstanding contributions were recognized with numerous prestigious industry honors. He was named NSW Qualified Professional Insurance Broker of the Year in both 2004 and 2009, received the ANZIIF Insurance Leader of the Year Award in 2018, and was presented with the Lex McKeown Award in 2021 for exceptional service to NIBA and the insurance profession. In 2024, he was also honored with the Austbrokers Frank Earl Award, recognizing excellence in insurance broking among Austbrokers Partners.
