Roman Wesley Parra Obituary, Death – Family, friends, and communities in Worland, Wyoming, Eaton, and northern Colorado are mourning the loss of Roman Wesley Parra, 20, who died from injuries sustained in a devastating rollover crash in Weld County. His death marks the fourth fatality resulting from the single-vehicle collision that occurred on July 25.

According to the Weld County Coroner’s Office, Roman Parra died early Sunday morning at a hospital in Greeley, Colorado, after spending more than a week receiving treatment for critical injuries.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m. on July 25 at the intersection of Weld County Road 80 and Weld County Road 39, east of Ault. The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) reported that the Chevrolet Tahoe Parra was driving was traveling westbound on County Road 80 at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway, entered a ditch, returned to the road, rotated, and rolled multiple times.

Investigators said all five occupants of the SUV were ejected during the crash.

Three passengers were pronounced dead at the scene:

  • Jack Dirksen, 19, of Eaton
  • Cash Rinker, 20, of Eaton
  • Cooper Nider, 19, of Greeley

Roman Parra was airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later succumbed to those injuries. A fifth occupant, a 19-year-old passenger from Eaton, sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

The Colorado State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. In an update released following the collision, investigators said they are examining whether impairment may have been a contributing factor after both open and unopened alcoholic beverages were found inside the vehicle. Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains active, and the official cause of the crash has not yet been determined.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information that may assist the investigation to contact the Colorado State Patrol and reference the appropriate case number.

The tragedy has deeply affected multiple communities connected to the victims. As news of Roman Parra’s passing spread, heartfelt tributes and messages of support have continued to emerge from friends, classmates, relatives, and community members remembering the young lives lost far too soon.

The loss of four young people in a single crash has left an immeasurable void for their families and loved ones. Many have expressed sympathy while honoring the memories, friendships, and aspirations that Roman and the other victims shared.

Funeral and memorial service arrangements for Roman Wesley Parra are expected to be announced by his family at a later date.

Heartfelt condolences are extended to the Parra family, as well as to the families of Jack Dirksen, Cash Rinker, and Cooper Nider, and to everyone mourning this devastating tragedy. May they find strength in one another, comfort in cherished memories, and peace as they navigate the difficult days ahead.
